Description

History lives at Old Alabama Town, where six blocks of authentically restored 19th and early 20th century structures beckon you to step back in time to the days of one-room schoolhouses, grist mills, humble log cabins, and slave quarters, all carefully restored as a history museum.

Come see Old Alabama Town, and tour these magnificent grounds at your own pace! Among the six blocks are the Working and Living Blocks. You can visit the blacksmith shop, spinner/weaver, cotton gin, print shop, and grist mill to see how Alabamians worked in the 19th and early 20th century. The Living Block features one-room schoolhouse, grocery store, church, shotgun house, and even a doctor’s office. Visit the Museum Store in the Loeb Reception Center for that perfect souvenir. Located in downtown Montgomery close to area restaurants with plenty of free parking.  Take your time, and come see it all!
